'Handing Over the Baton' at Relay Point

Shepherd Developments ‘handed over the baton' to Main Contractor Moss Construction at a turf cutting ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of the first building at the Relay Point Tamworth office development at Junction 10 on the M42 Motorway.

Shepherd Developments has already commenced to market this speculative office scheme, which has a first class location, directly opposite Tamworth Motorway services. The first Relay Point building, comprising 14,000 Ft² (1,300 M²) together with 50 car parking spaces, is scheduled for completion in September 2000.

The total Relay Point development will comprise 48,000 Ft² (4,460 M²) and will be developed in three phases. It is already generating interest from organisations looking for cost effective premises on the M42 corridor.

Commenting on this scheme, Shepherd Developments' Regional Director, Andy Griffiths said: "This exciting scheme is exceptionally well located and provides office accommodation of the highest quality. Since there has been no recent significant office development in Tamworth, we believe that it will provide an increasingly attractive alternative to more expensive offices elsewhere along the M42 corridor. A further benefit is that labour availability in Tamworth means that support staff can be easily recruited in this location".

At the turf cutting, the Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Mrs Pat Dix welcomed the Relay Point scheme saying: "Tamworth is an appealing and convenient place in which to live and work so we are delighted that Shepherd Developments is proceeding with Relay Point. It is a high quality speculative scheme and we are sure that their confidence and investment will be rewarded."
