Record Development at West Moor Park

Construction work has started on the largest speculative warehouse ever built in Doncaster.

Mayor Winter will be visiting the Tranmoor Point site at 9am today to view the works in progress, which include the commencement of steelwork erection. The new 140,000 Ft² industrial development is based at Yorkshire Forward's West Moor Park.

Developer, Teesshep, a joint venture between Scarborough Development Group plc and Shepherd Developments, is hailing this as the largest speculative development in the entire Yorkshire region. The £4.8 million development, which is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund via Objective 1 South Yorkshire, will be completed in Autumn 2003.

West Moor Park is currently experiencing unprecedented levels of development, with 1 million Ft² of new accommodation to be constructed this year. The park has already attracted national and international occupiers such as IKEA, Next and Fellowes.

Nick Child, Director of Shepherd Development Company Ltd said: "West Moor Park is well situated, being close to Junction 4 of the M18 and has been successful in attracting several leading companies. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Doncaster was seeing a greater take up than Leeds, especially of large units."
